Cash-for-vote accused back in jail

The three accused sent in judicial custody till June 15. The investigators went to the house of Mr. Simha at Nagole, where some foreign liquor bottles were found.

The Special Court for ACB cases sent TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy and two others accused in the cash for vote scandal in judicial custody till June 15 as their four-day custody ended on Tuesday. The accused were sent back to Charlapally central prison after a mandatory health check-up at Osmania General Hospital.

Earlier, special teams of the ACB searched the houses of Mr. Reddy, Bishop Harry Sebastian and Rudra Uday Simha, but couldn’t stumble upon any incriminating evidence relating to the case. The investigators went to the house of Mr. Simha at Nagole, where some foreign liquor bottles were found.

They handed over to the Prohibition and Enforcement officials concerned. The ACB teams raided two houses of the MLA at Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills. Since Another team carried out searches at the house of Mr. Sebastian in Vikaspuri of Erragadda. Documents relating to the bank accounts of the three accused were examined. Searches continued for nearly six hours in the three houses.

The TDP MLA complained to the judge that he was not provided with proper amenities while being in the custody of the ACB officials. He said that he got some infection as proper drinking water and other arrangements were not made. Bail petition filed by the counsel for the accused would be heard by the court on Wednesday.
