The proposed cable-stayed bridge across river Manair on Karimnagar outskirts connecting the town with Hyderabad - Warangal road is all set to emerge as a major tourist destination along with the Manair River Front project being developed on the shores of LMD Reservoir.
The State Government had decided to develop Manair river front at a cost of ₹506 crore and released ₹193 crore from the budget during this financial year. The construction of first of its kind cable-stayed bridge across the river will change the skyline at the entrance of the town.
The State Government issued a fresh GO No. 558 on dated October 13 sanctioning revised administrative orders for the construction of the bridge.

The Government had prepared project report last year for the construction of the bridge at a cost of ₹147 crore. But, due to escalation of prices of steel, the cost has increased to ₹183 crore.
Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar said that the bridge work was delayed as no firm had come forward for the tenders invited three times since a year ago. Later, the Tata Group had come forward to take up the bridge project with on no loss and no profit basis. He said that the work would begin within one year and complete it in 15 months and would be open to the general traffic.
For the first cable-stayed bridge, a four-lane approach road would be laid from the Kaman in Karimnagar to Sadasivapalli in Manakondur across the river. Each kilometer road would be laid at a cost of ₹ 9.3 crore. He said that the bridge would ease traffic congestion at Alugunur cross roads and also reduce travel time and distance.
