B.Tech student dies in ‘suicide pact’

In an apparent suicide pact, a young couple allegedly consumed poison in Yellendu town on Thursday.

D. Prem Kumar, a B.Tech graduate, and his girl friend, an Intermediate second year student, of separate tribal hamlets under Manikyaram gram panchayat in Yellendu mandal, allegedly swallowed poison near the government college in Yellendu late in the afternoon.

Prem Kumar reportedly died while being shifted to the district headquarters hospital in Khammam in the evening. The girl was rushed to a hospital in Khammam in a serious condition.
