Bejjur police in Adilabad district on Tuesday registered a case of attempted rape against Bejjur Tahsildar J. Shankar and a private worker in the Tahsildar office, G. Sampath. According to the police, a 28-year-old woman had applied to the Tahsildar for issue of patta on September 21. Sampath took her to the residence of the Tahsildar on the pretext of handing over the papers when the attempt was made.
