Even as officials are sparing no effort to declare the results of the engineering agriculture medicine common entrance test (Eamcet) 2015 results on Thursday, uncertainty looms large over the conduct of engineering counselling from June 5 and commencement of classes from the first week of July.

Human Resource Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivasa Rao will release the results at JNTU Kakinada at 11.30 a.m.

Out of the 1,70,440 candidates who had applied for the engineering stream, 1,62,807 appeared for the test held on May 8. Of the 69,840 candidates who had applied for the medicine stream, 66,428 took the exam. A total of 95.39 per cent appeared in the engineering stream, while 95.05 per cent appeared in the medicine stream. EAMCET Convenor Ch. Sai Babu said the government had wanted the results to be released on May 26, but officials successfully completed the paper valuation, enabling the university to declare the results in advance. Meanwhile, uncertainty looms over the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) plans to commence engineering counselling from June 5, with the Telangana government taking control of the Sanketika Vidya Bhavan in Hyderabad.
