Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that the State Government will complete the Palamuru -Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project without fail and develop Telangana with green cover.

“Andhra leaders are still trying to create hurdles to prevent the construction of irrigation projects in Telangana. YSR Congress party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has announced taking up of relay fast at Kurnool while Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has been writing letters to the Union Government. The leaders of YSRCP and TDP from Telangana have been trying to create problems for the State Government in this regard. Come what may, we will complete irrigation projects and see that water is supplied to more than one crore acres in Telangana,” said Mr. Harish Rao while participating in May Day celebrations held at Siddipet on Sunday. He wondered why the TDP and YSRCP leaders are silent when injustice is being meted out to Telangana. Mr. Rao also explained the initiatives taken up by the State Government in providing facilities like insurance and extending medical facilities to workers.

Earlier participating in various programmes, the Minister promised to develop Siddipet as model constituency in the State. Informing that about Rs. 42 crore would be allotted for the renovation of tanks in the constituency, he urged the people to construct soak pits like at Ibrahimpur so that ground water levels could be increased to a considerable level.
