He was planning to visit Aurangabad, Mumbra and Mumbai on a three-day programme to take part in ‘iftar’ programmes

After the Majlis president, Asaduddin Owaisi, it is the turn of his younger sibling, Akbaruddin Owaisi, to get notice from Maharashtra police not to enter the Thane Commissionerate limits.

Mr. Akbaruddin, who was planning to visit Aurangabad, Mumbra and Mumbai to take part in ‘iftar’ programmes, was served the notice by Thane police here on Monday. The orders issued by Thane Police Commissioner, Vijay Kamble, would be in force from July 20 to 31. Citing previous cases in which the Majlis leader was involved, Mr. Kamble said he had come to know that during his visit to Mumbra, Mr. Akbaruddin might deliver ‘provocative speech’ thereby disturbing peace.

In his reply, the Majlis leader said the impugned order was passed on unfounded grounds and mere assumptions. His visit to Mumbra was only for attending an ‘iftar’ dinner and there was no public meeting arranged. On Sunday, Mr. Asaduddin faced tense moments when he was denied entry into Malegaon where he was going to take part in an ‘iftar’ programme . Police stopped his vehicle and served a notice issued by the district Magistrate denying him permission to deliver speech. . Howeverhe was allowed to attend the iftar programme.
