Government has taken people for a ride, says Geetha Reddy

Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman and Congress MLA J. Geetha Reddy has alleged that the government has taken the people of Sangareddy for a ride by shifting the medical college to Siddipet from here.

Participating in the second day of agitation demanding establishment of medical college for Sangareddy on Tuesday, Ms. Geetha Reddy said, the then Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy wrote ‘please examine and do the needful’ and that was sufficient to establish the medical college.

“We have identified the need for medical college for Sangareddy and took steps for its establishment in the combined State. But after coming to power the TRS government has taken it to Siddipet which was smaller than Sangareddy. A private medical college is already there and one more private college has been proposed. So what was the need for the government medical college?” she asked.

She said that the agitation would continue till the foundation stone for medical college was laid .

Meanwhile, MLA Chinta Prabhakar has reacted sharply on the issue.

He asked why Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy had failed to get the medical college sanctioned during his decade-long tenure from 2004 to 2014 and alleged him of being a traitor to Telangana during the separate State agitation.
