Two naxalites of CPI Maoist party surrendered to the police in the presence of Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishore Jha here on Tuesday. Bhairaboina Bhikshapathi alias Kiran alias Ramesh belongs to Md. Ghousepalli village in Atmakur mandal.
He went underground in 2001 and worked mostly in Chhattisgarh state. He was involved in various offences including killing of CRPF and BSF jawans and decamping with weapons. Before surrender, he was working as Dandakaranya Committee ccommander. He was carrying a reward of Rs. 5 lakhs.
Another naxal P. Rukmini alias Sunitha, member of the Dandakaranya Committee also gave up arms and surrendered before the police. She belonged to Edur village in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. She went underground in 2009. Speaking to newsmen, the surrendered naxals said that they were vexed with the life underground and realized that the party lost its relevance.

The SP Jha appealed to all underground cadre to make use of the surrender policy and encouragement being extended by the Telangana Government. The naxals should give up arms and join their families back, he added.
