Two houses burgled in Karimnagar

Two houses were burgled and 12 tolas gold and Rs. 1 lakh in cash was stolen in Gautamnagar and Chintakunta localities on the outskirts of Karimnagar town in the wee hours of Thursday.

Police sources said that four members of a gang had gained entry into six houses in Gautamnagar and a house in Chintakunta by breaking open the latches. In four houses, the burglars could not secure anything. In a house in Gauthamnagar and another in Chintakunta, the burglars decamped with the booty of 12 tolas of gold and Rs. 1 lakh.

When the burglars gained entry into the houses, the house owners were sleeping on the terrace of their houses. The incident came to light only on Thursday morning after they woke up.
