TPCC flays arrest of TJAC chairman

February 22, 2017 07:18 pm | Updated 07:20 pm IST - KARIMNAGAR

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee official spokesperson R. Ramya Rao, a close relative of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has launched a scathing attack against the TRS Government for arresting TJAC Chairman M. Kodandaram in an undemocratic manner and suppressing the voice of people.

“The early morning swoop down upon the residence of Prof. Kodandaram and the police high-handedness is illegal and undemocratic”, she said and alleged that the Government had even surpassed the Nizam Government in suppressing the rights of the people.

Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, Ms. Ramya Rao wanted to know as to why Mr. Kodandaram, who was treated as a valuable person by Mr. Rao during the statehood movement for launching million march, sagara haram and other agitations, was being treated like an unwanted man. “What is wrong if the TJAC Chairman asked the State Government to fulfil its promise of providing one lakh jobs to the unemployed,” she questioned.

She warned the Chief Minister that the people of Telangana would teach him a fitting lesson if he did not mend his ways and failed to fulfil the promises made to them during the elections.

She also found fault with the TRS leaders for making false allegations against the TJAC Chairman without whom the Telangana would not have been a reality. Former Mahila Congress president Gugilla Jayashree and others were also present.
