Schools celebrate Librarians Day

Students of Paramita High School in Mankammthota of Karimnagar town celebrated Librarians Day on Friday, to mark the birth anniversary of the father of library science in India S.R. Ranganathan.

On the occasion, the school management conducted elocution competition on the importance of libraries for students.

Shyampal and S. Pujitha won first and second prizes respectively for the same.

Paramita Educational Institutes chairman E. Prasada Rao complimented the students for their participation. Principal Hanumantha Rao, and librarians Rashmi and Shailaja, among others, were also present.

Similarly, Vivekananda Degree and PG College also celebrated Librarians Day. Principal Ch. Srinivas and librarian Md. Ali Khan educated the students about the importance of using libraries to update their subject knowledge.

They urged students to spend their leisure time in libraries by reading books and newspapers.
