The Telangana State Muslim Reservation Struggle Committee has urged the State-level commission of an inquiry into socio-economic conditions of Muslims to take measures to ensure that the Muslims were given 12 per cent reservations in education and employment to change their living conditions. The committee president Mohsin Ahmed Khan and others have submitted a memorandum to the three-member Commission of inquiry headed by retired IAS officer G. Sudheer in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
Earlier, the Commission of inquiry had visited various Urdu medium schools, minority women’s hostel and residential areas in Karimnagar and interacted with the students and local residents. The committee inquired with the students about the distribution of books, availability of faculty, etc. The students complained about the non-availability of MPC course in Urdu medium.
The committee had also conducted a review meeting with Collector Neetu Prasad and inquired about the welfare schemes to the Muslim minorities. The committee also inquired about the Muslim students studying in various institutions and the number of teachers. They also inquired about the location of primary health centres in the Muslim dominated areas.

The committee also inquired about the Anganwadi centres and enrolment of women in the self-help groups and their economic activities. Additional JC A. Nagendra, DM&HO Dr. Aleem, DRDA project director Arunasri, district Minority Welfare Officer Md. Ali and others were also present.
