Malaysian team for A.P. to study investment opportunities

The Chief Minister recalled his association with the former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir and the cooperation extended by him for development of Andhra Pradesh.

A team of officials from Malaysia will visit Andhra Pradesh shortly to explore investment opportunities. This assurance was given by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during their interaction at Davos on Thursday.

The Chief Minister recalled his association with the former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir and the cooperation extended by him for development of Andhra Pradesh.

He briefed Mr. Najib on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the problems being faced by the residuary State post-bifurcation. He also outlined the development opportunities along the east coast and sought help in building tourism and infrastructure sectors.

The Chief Minister explained to the Malaysian Prime Minister the plan prepared for development of Buddhist and temple tourism. Mr. Najib informed Mr. Naidu that a special team from Malaysia would be sent to Andhra Pradesh after receiving proposals on investments.

Mr. Naidu recalled that the Soft Bank Chairman had earlier stated that India would be the leading country in the world by 2050. He stressed on the need for proper utilisation of human resources.
