94 % of land records corrected: Collector

Distribution of new pattadar passbooks for the farmers from March 11

Collector Manickaraj Kannan said that the district administration has corrected about 94 % of the land records in the district and arrangements were on to commence the distribution of new pattadar passbooks for the farmers from March 11.

Addressing a gathering after hoisting the national flag at the Parade Grounds on Thursday, Mr. Manickaraj said that as many as 589 grama samanvaya samithis and 26 mandal samanvaya samithis were established in the district. ₹4,000 per acre per farmer would be extended for two seasons, while the first payment would be made by May 15.

The Collector said as many as 19 godowns with a capacity of 70,000 MTs had been sanctioned for the district, and out of that 17 godowns, with a capacity of 65,000 MTs, had already been completed. So far 10,400 sheep units had been distributed out of the scheduled 15,000 sheep units in the district, he added. On Mission Kakatiya, the Collector said so far 744 tanks had been restored in three phases and permission has been accorded to 354 tanks in the fourth phase. The Singoor project ayacut would be extended to 51,500 acres by the time of kharif.

Later, cultural programmes were held by students.

At Siddipet, the national flag was hoisted by Collector P. Venkataram Reddy. He talked about the all-round development activities taking place in the district and more particularly the irrigation projects.
