The death toll due to severe heat wave conditions claimed 867 lives in A.P. so far with no respite in sweltering conditions on Tuesday.
According to Department of Disaster Management, 202 people succumbed to sunstroke in Prakasam district. The following is the death toll in various districts: Srikakulam- 40, Vizianagaram- 78, Visakhapatnam- 112, East Godavari-107, West Godavari – 10, Krishna- 49, Guntur – 130, Prakasam – 202, Nellore – 74, Chittoor – 29, Kadapa – 22, Kurnool – 17 and Anantapur – 14.
