‘Govt. education sector being diluted for decades’

All India Forum for Right To Education Act (AIFRTE) national secretariat member M. Gangadhar alleged that since the last two-and-a-half decades, the Union and State governments have diluted the government education sector by encouraging private and corporate institutions.

Participating as chief guest at the Democratic Teachers’ Federation (DTF) 11th annual general body meeting here on Sunday, Mr. Gangadhar called upon people and organisations to unite and wage a fight against commercialisation of the education sector. Urging the government not to privatise the education sector, he said that the government should introduce a common school system for providing uniform education all over the country.

DTF State president M. Raghushankar Reddy demanded that the government look into the common service rules of teachers and fill up all the vacant MEO and Deputy DEO posts at the earliest.

State secretary Y. Rajireddy said that the government should reintroduce the old pension system instead of the new contributory pension system.
