WARANGAL URBAN: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao was responsible for diversion of funds meant for SC and ST welfare during the Telugu Desam Party, Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samiti regimes, Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) leader Manda Krishna Madiga said.
Speaking to newsmen, he said KCR worked in the TDP and shared power with the Congress and now was leading his own government.
“During the last two-and-a-half decades, a total of ₹67,000 crore meant for welfare of SC and STs was diverted. We demand a probe with a sitting High Court judge and an action on those responsible,” he added.

Every chief minister held a meeting to review the welfare of SC and STs every three months in the past, but KCR did not hold a single meeting in 31 months.
Only after the MRPS raised the issue of SC/ST fund diversion that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao immediately convened a meeting.
By making Kadiam Srihari and A. Chandulal incharge for SC and ST welfare, KCR was conspiring to defeat the interests of SC and STs using the ministers belonging to the same communities.

Mr. Krishna Madiga held Kadiam Srihari too responsible for neglect of implementation of SC welfare activities and development. Enjoying power for a long time in the TDP and now in the TRS as Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Srihari remained a mute spectator and never questioned when the SC sub-plan funds were diverted to other schemes.
The MRPS leader demanded that in addition to probe into the fund diversion, the State government should now allocate budget as per population. “Now SCs form 18 per cent and STs form 12 per cent of population in Telangana and they should get funds accordingly,” he pointed out.
