Lawyers of Tehelka co-founder Tarun Tejpal, accused in the journalist sexual assault case, moved an application before the Fast Track Court here on Tuesday complaining that the charge sheet filed against Tejpal by Crime Branch police had enough material to reveal the victim's identity.
The application stated that the victim's name, phone no., etc., is all over the charge sheet, which is a public document, and as such that amounts to an offence under the Indian Penal Code.
In another application moved before the court, his lawyers asked for copies of all electronic data that has been relied upon -CCTV, Phone logs, etc., in the charge sheet. The applications will come up for hearing on March 6.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday the Court extended Tejpal's judicial remand to March 6. On March 4 his bail plea is scheduled to come up for hearing in Bombay High Court at Goa.
The Crime Branch police did not produce Tejpal before the Court on Tuesday while seeking extension of his judicial remand as the escort police were busy in some official duty. They will produce him in fast track court on March 6 when his applications will come up.
On its part, the Crime Branch has moved an application before Chief Judicial Magistrate, Panaji seeking permission to file any additional evidence supporting the charge sheet they filed earlier.

At present, Tejpal is lodged at Sada Sub-Jail in Vasco in south Goa in judicial custody. He was arrested by Goa police under the charges of sexual abuse of a junior woman journalist colleague twice during a literary event of the Tehelka magazine held at a five star hotel in north Goa in early November last year.
On Monday, adding to Tejpal's woes, Mormugao police filed a case against him and six other inmates of Sada sub-jail after mobile phones with sims were seized from them on Sunday by Superintendent of jail during a routine inspection.
