A worker, Parandhaman (25), was arrested on the charge of molesting a minor girl in old Batlagundu on Thursday.
Police said that the youth gave soft drinks laced with a sedative to the 14-year-old girl of the same area and kept her in an unused house for the past two days.
On realising that the girl was missing, the parents launched a search and found her in the house.

Based on a complaint lodged by them, the Batlagundu police arrested Parandhaman and produced him before the judicial magistrate court in Nilakottai.
Remanded
Magistrate Nagalakshmi Devi remanded him in 15 days judicial custody.
