Work on four flyovers to begin soon

Rs. 84 crore allotted for South-Western Railway

The Railways will soon launch the works on the construction of four flyovers in and around Dharmapuri town, said Sunanda Arul, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Bangalore Railway Division.

Speaking to press persons here on Saturday, Ms. Sunanda Arul said the flyovers will come up in four spots, including Adiyamankottai and Vennampatti.

The Railway Ministry has allotted Rs. 84 crore for the South-Western Railway for executing various development works.

A sum of Rs. 35 crore has been earmarked for Bangalore Division alone.

Adequate funds will be earmarked for undertaking infrastructure development works in Dharmapuri railway station.

The Bangalore Division has attached priority for saving electricity by installing solar lamps and solar panels in a big way in the railway stations.

Referring to the other projects planned by the division, Ms. Arul said CCTV cameras will be installed in the railway stations and in the coaches exclusively for women. Steps will be taken for the supply of Hogenekal protected drinking water in the railway stations in Dharmapuri, Palakkodu and Thoppur, she added. Later, Ms. Arul inspected the railways stations in Dharmapuri district.
