Collector M. Karunakaran has appealed to all eligible voters in the district to give their Aadhaar card number to the Booth Level Officers who will be visiting every house as part of the Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Drive to be commenced from March 1 for preparing cent per cent error-free electoral roll.

In a statement, Dr. Karunakaran said the Election Commission of India, with the objective of preparing cent per cent error-free voters’ list, has planned to launch Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Drive (ERPAD) between March 1 and May 15. Voters’ names included at two or more places will be weeded out through entering Aadhaar number in the voters’ list.

Moreover, all information regarding the voters will be connected to either their e-mail ids or their mobile phones. “Hence, all eligible voters should keep ready the Aadhaar number, mobile phone number and their e-mail ids ready when the Booth Level Officers visit the voters at their residences to collect these details as part of the ERPAD,” Dr. Karunakaran said.
