Counselling for admission to B.Tech courses at VIT University began on Wednesday.
According to a press release, the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) was conducted from April 5 to 16 for admission to 7,200 seats in 20 engineering degree courses.
VITEEE was held in 119 cities in India and abroad. A total of 2,23,081 students appeared for the examination.

The entrance examination was held for admission to courses offered at VIT campuses at Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Andhra Pradesh.
This included B.Tech. Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, and also new courses offered at Andhra Pradesh campus –
Computer Science with Data Analytics and Computer Science with Networks and Security, the release stated.

The first phase of counselling for admitting students, who had cleared the entrance examination, based on ranks secured by them, began at the university.
Simultaneous sessions
It was being held simultaneously at Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal and Andhra Pradesh campuses.
Counselling was held for students who had secured one to 8,000 ranks on Wednesday.
This will be followed by counselling for students with ranks from 8,001 to 14,000 on Thursday and 14,001 to 20,000 on Friday. The second phase of counselling will begin on May 15 and go on till May 22.
VIT University’s vice president G.V. Selvam handed over the admission order to a student.
Anand A. Samuel, vice chancellor, was present, the release said.
