Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday sought the support of all political parties for the smooth passing of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill and the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Bill in the current session of Parliament.

“The Narendra Modi government has introduced these Bills and other legislation in national interest. But the Congress and the Left have blocked the passing of these Bills without any reason,” Mr. Naidu said in an informal chat with presspersons here.

He denied the allegation that the Centre was selective in seeking the support of the political parties for the passing of these Bills. Mr. Naidu said that the Union government was extending all cooperation to Tamil Nadu for its overall development. Though the BJP is fighting the ruling AIADMK in the Assembly elections, the Centre has established good ‘government to government’ contact with the regime in State, he said.
