The election to the Vellore Lok Sabha constituency will be held on Monday. It was rescinded in April based on the recommendation of the Election Commission following a report on the use of money power to influence voters.

On Sunday, a CCTV camera, 11 computers, a photocopy and printing machine and a scanner went missing from a polling booth in Gudiyatham.

Election department sources said the staff went to the Block Primary School in Gandhi Nagar on Sunday to shift the polling machines. When they reached the location, they found that the locks of the Smart Classrooms were broken.

The intruders were said to have stolen 11 computers, a printer-photocopier and a scanner stored in the room. They also removed the CCTV camera fixed in front of the room.

On receiving a complaint, the Gudiyatham town police reached the spot and conducted preliminary inquiries.

In Christianpet near Katpadi, a static surveillance team, deployed to curb poll code violations, seized ₹11 lakh while the amount was being transported in a car.
