The Marine Police of Coastal Security Group (CSG) have detained two persons who were found in possession of suspected narcotics substance at Devipattinam near here on Monday.
Acting on a tip-off, a Marine Police team seized 600 gm of the suspected narcotics substance from two persons. Inspector of Police P.S. Ramesh Kumar said that samples of the seized substance had been sent to forensic laboratory for test. Further action would be taken after obtaining the test results, he said.
Last week, the local police seized about three kg of ‘white powder’ from two persons at Sayalkudi and the seized powder was suspected as ‘white ice,’ but the tests revealed that it was sodium carbonate.
