Two Ayyappa devotees electrocuted

Two Ayyappa devotees were electrocuted when they came in contact with live snapped power lines near Koodankulam on Saturday evening.

Police said R. Jothi Manikandan (18), S. Prakash (20) and Saravanan (20), all from Koodankulam, were going to Uppilipaadu tank in a bike around 6.30 p.m. to take bath.

As they were nearing the tank, they came in contact with a suspending live snapped electric wire, in which Jothi Manikandan and Prakash were electrocuted on the spot while Saravanan suffered injuries.

He was rushed to the hospital and his condition is reportedly “stable.”

Koodankulam police have registered a case.
