Two advocates from Chennai killed in accident

MADURAI

Two advocates from Chennai were killed and another one was injured when the car in which they were travelling hit a wall on the roadside at Allikundam near Sedapatti on Tuesday afternoon.

Police identified the deceased as J. Jeyamani (40) and M. Gopalakrishnan. The injured is V. Senthil.

The trio were proceeding to Theni district to distribute invitations for a family function organised by Jeyamani at Thevaram on May 28.

Jeyamani, who was driving the car, lost control of the vehicle and it hit the roadside wall. The front portion of the car was completely damaged. In the impact of the collision, two of the occupants of the vehicle were thrown out after smashing the windscreen.

The body of Jeyamani, who was killed on the spot, got stuck in the mangled remains of the car. Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Usilampatti had to break open the car to pull out his body.

Senthil has been admitted to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai.
