TNAU releases rank list

As many as 48,676 candidates had applied online this year

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Vice Chancellor K. Ramasamy on Friday released the rank list of candidates for admission to undergraduate courses for the 2018-19 academic year.

As many as 48,676 candidates had applied online this year and 32,621 of those were considered.

There were 3,422 seats on offer for students in 14 constituent and 26 affiliated colleges in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, food science and other branches. The University opened the admission process on May 18 and closed it on June 17, Mr. Ramasamy said.

It then conducted the certificate verification process from June 18 to 20.

The University will hold the first round of single-window, online counselling on June 7, starting with special category candidates.

The general category candidates will have counselling sessions from July 9 to 13, followed by a counselling session for students in the vocational stream on July 16.

For candidates who have applied under the non-resident Indians quota, the University will conduct the counselling on July 17 and 18, he added.

Top rankers

The Vice Chancellor said, S.N. Aarthi, a student from Namakkal, had secured the first rank with a cut-off of 200 out of 200.

The second rank was secured by P. Srikarthika of Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, who had 199.67 out of 200.

While the third rank was snagged by M. Meghna of Coimbatore, who had scored 199.5 out of 200.
