Tiruchi DMK cadre attend Alagiri’s birthday bash

Exhibiting their support and loyalty to M.K. Alagiri, several Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) functionaries from Tiruchi and its neighbouring districts made it to his birthday celebrations in Madurai on Thursday. DMK cadre from different parts of the district garlanded the statue of Periyar near central bus stand and left for Madurai by vans and four-wheelers.

M. Venkatachalam, a staunch supporter of Mr. Alagiri, said DMK functionaries from various parts of the district including Manapparai and Thottiyam attended the celebrations.

Cadre from neighbouring Pudukottai and Kulithalai in Karur district too attended, said Mr. Venkatachalam, former chairman, board of trustees of Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple.
