Three countrymade bombs found

The district police recovered three countrymade bombs buried in a bush at Periyakumatti village near Parangipettai on Friday. Acting on a tip-off, a team conducted checks at a vacant land behind a temple in Periyakumatti and recovered the explosives.

The bombs were placed in a bucket filled with water and kept at the Parangipettai police station. A team of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) is on the way to diffuse the bombs. Meanwhile, the police have intensified checks at Periyakumatti and surrounding areas. A case has been registered.
