Walking along the beach road on a Sunday morning is always a pleasure. And if there are no vehicles to be worried, it is more fun. Celebrating two years of fun, fitness and entertainment, The Hindu ’s Car-free Sunday stepped into the 3rd year this past Sunday.

A special line-up of events had been made for anniversary on October 29 between 6 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. The day began with a special Zumba routine, followed by spectacular drums orchestra by Drumalaya. The public was welcome to get their caricatures done, learn the basics of first aid, take a bicycle and ride along the beach road or enjoy a photo walk on the journey of Car-free Sundays.

A small felicitation ceremony was held to acknowledge the contribution of partners who supported Car-free Sundays. A special contest was conducted for the audience and those who won were given free gift vouchers and other goodies. The celebrations were rounded off with a special streetplay touching upon various issues pertinent to society by DJ Ensomneacks.
