Thanjavur Book Festival begins

District Collector N. Subbaiyan inaugurated the Thanjavur Book Festival at the Palace Grounds here on Friday calling upon the townsmen to benefit from the range of titles available at the fair.

Stating that the discount available on books would add to the attraction, the Collector said that parents and teachers must take efforts to inculcate reading habit among students and children. The book fair presented an opportunity to young and the old to gain intellectually, he added.

Superintendent of Police G. Dharmarajan, Chief Education Officer R. Thiruvalarselvi, District Education Officer Ranganathan, Deputy Director of Art and Culture R. Gunasekaran, and Tourism Officer U. Rajasekaran were present.
