Asokan (52), a helper of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco), attached to the 11 KV sub-station in the EB Colony in Vaduganthangal in K.V. Kuppam police station limits here was electrocuted when the transformer in the sub-station was switched on by the Junior Engineer (Maintenance) on Thursday afternoon.
According to police sources, Asokan had remained in the sub-station when all other employees had come out after completion of maintenance work. Thinking that everyone had come out, the JE had switched on the transformer resulting in the electrocution. — Special Correspondent
