Tamil entrepreneurs event to be held in U.S.

Over 6,000 people expected to attend

Global Tamil Entrepreneurs Network (GTEN), an event that fosters entrepreneurship will be held on July 6 in the U.S.

It will be hosted by the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FETNA) and the American Tamil Entrepreneurs Association (ATEA).

The event will be part of a triad of premier events — the 10th World Tamil Conference, 32nd Annual Convention of FETNA and the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Chicago Tamil Sangam (CTS) to be held at Schaumburg, Illinois, U.S. from July 4 to 7, with two days each of cultural extravaganza, research conference and entrepreneurship meet.

Over 6,000 people from around the world would participate in GTEN, according to Siva Moopanar, the global coordinator for the event.

“The objective of the GTEN conference is to provide a platform that can cultivate influential Tamil leaders across various business and professional landscapes. We aim to engage Tamil business professionals on a global scale, provide them with opportunities to learn from others, impart wisdom and build meaningful professional and personal relationships,” he said.

The event will also showcase successful Tamil business leaders with entrepreneurial spirit, engage youth and women to the world of innovation and start-up culture. Some of the focus areas would be U.S. immigration, Agrotech, healthcare, women in entrepreneurship, alumni networking among others.

GTEN/ATEA is also conducting a demo day to enable startups to showcase their products and solutions to global entrepreneurs for collaboration and investment. The winner will get a prize money of $10,000, the runner-up, $3,000 and the second runner-up, $2,000. Each shortlisted start-up will get free Amazon Web Services and Azure credits worth $2,000 or more.
