Take your life forward by developing soft skills and putting in hard work, Justice M. Jaichandren, Judge, Madras High Court, told graduating students of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology on Saturday.
In his graduation day address, he said that success was not mere money-making, but the satisfaction and joy derived out of work.
“Dream big and chase it,” Justice Jaichandren said, quoting former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Be a noble citizen and do charity to change others’ lives, he added.

He conferred degree on 1,489 graduates, consisting of 1,060 undergraduates, 429 postgraduates, and 11 Ph.D scholars, along with Shankar Annaswamy, National Council Member of CII, and former Managing Director of IBM India Private Limited.
In his special address, Mr. Shankar Annaswamy, appreciated the creation of incubation facilities on the campus and exhorted students to undertake innovations of commercial value.
He advocated acquisition of the traits of integrity, honesty, passion for work and adaptability.

“Embrace challenges and continue learning in life,” he said.
Presiding over, college chairman S.V. Balasubramanian spoke of scope for employment opportunities for the student community in the new regime of Indo-American relations.
Positive attitude with boldness and strength would stand the graduates in good stead as they entered the society, Mr. Balasubramanian said.
Principal in-charge K. Sivakumar said that 25 outstanding students of various departments were presented with gold medals.
Ovia Margaret T of Department of Biotechnology and Santhosh M of Department of Mechanical Engineering received Best Outgoing Student gold medals instituted in the names of Kalavathy Kaarthikeyan and Bharat Ratna C. Subramaniam.
Degree conferred on 1,489 graduates
