Suit seeks injunction on ‘Arrambam’ release

October 30, 2013 10:11 am | Updated May 28, 2016 09:34 am IST - CHENNAI:

A suit was filed in the City Civil Court on Tuesday seeking to restrain the producer of Tamil film ‘Arrambam’ from releasing it.

The Ajith Kumar-starrer is scheduled to be released on Deepavali.

In the suit, K. Kannan, a film producer, said he had already commenced the production of a film with a similar title, ‘Ini Dhan Arambam’, which had been registered with Film and Television Producers Guild of South of India. Even after registering the title, the Guild had registered the film produced by A. Raghuram, Arrambam. The similar names would cause confusion among the public, Mr. Kannan said, and sought for a permanent injunction restraining Mr. Raghuram from releasing the film. The case is likely to come up for hearing before a City Civil Court on Wednesday.
