SSLC results: Girls fare better than boys in Pudukottai

Though the number of boys and girls who appeared for the Class X examinations was nearly equal, a larger number of girls passed out.

Of the total 23,671 students (11,836 boys and 11,835 girls) who appeared, as many as 21,417 candidates (10,416 boys and 11,001 girls) emerged successful.

The district registered a pass percentage of 90.48 per cent, 4.75 per cent more than the last year’s achievement of 85.73 percent.

Crowd of rank holders

Fourteen students came up to share the district-level three ranks. The first rank was shared by two students, second rank by four and the third by eight students.

V. Bavya (Punitha Arockia Annai Higher Secondary School, Keeranur) and R. Tamilselvi (Laurel HSS, Kurumbakadu) scored the district first rank by securing 498 marks. They also qualified for the state second rank.

V. Harini Meera and J. Sowmiya (both from Mt. Zion HSS), A. Nowfia Aafrina (Vairam’s Matriculation HSS, Rajagopalapuram) and S. Subhashini (Laurel HSS, Kurumbalakadu) who got 497 marks, finished district-level second rank.

The following students with a tally of 495 marks got district third rank: V.D. Aarthy (Vidhya Vikas Mat. HSS, Gandarvakottai), P.L.Abirami and T. Akshaya, (Mt. Zion HSS), S. Anitha (Amalorpavam Mat. HSS, Pudukottai), K. Brindha and M. Devaki ( both from Holy Cross Mat. School, Alangudi), A. Deepan (Vestley Mat. HSS, Aranthangi) and K. Thaiyalnayagi (Vairam’s Mat HSS, Rajagopalapuram).
