Revenue authorities have formed squads at taluk level in the district, and at zonal level in the Corporation limits to monitor firecracker business and rule out sale of Chinese products.
Banned Chinese firecrackers, if detected, will be confiscated and destroyed by the teams headed by officials in the rank of Deputy Collector with members drawn from Revenue, Police and Fire and Rescue Service Departments, and officials of the local bodies.
Those flouting the norms will face severe action as per the government rules, according to a press release.
