Minister for Information and Special Schemes Implementation, K.T. Rajendra Balaji, handed over the solatium of Rs.1 lakh to the family members of Ganesan, who died after setting himself on fire, on Saturday.
A statement said that Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, had announced the compensation from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The Minister handed over the cheque to the family members in the presence of Collector, T.N. Hariharan, Sivakasi Revenue Divisional Officer, R.V. Subbulakshmi, and other officers.
