SDAT to hold competitions

The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), Vellore, is conducting track events for students under the World Beaters Talent Spotting Scheme 2014-2015.

According to a press release, the track events for students in classes VI to VIII in Vellore Education District will be held on February 17 from 8 a.m. at the CMC ground, Bagayam.

This will be followed by the competitions for students in Tirupattur Education District at Jolarpet mini-stadium on February 19.

The events that will be held are 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, long jump, high jump and shot put.

SDAT has said that schools that have already conducted a battery of tests for students under the scheme and submitted their report alone could send their students for the competitions.

Those who had scored 10, 9, 8 marks in the selection tests are eligible.

Students who bag the first place will get to participate in the zonal competitions to be held at the end of the third week of this month, the release added.
