A four-member team from National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) visited the violence-hit Dalit colonies of Natham Colony, Anna Nagar, and Kondampatti in Naikkankottai village in Dharmapuri district to carry out investigation.
The team led by DSPs P.S. Rao and V.D. Sachin and Inspectors Islam Singh and Rajinder Singh, met the victims of violence.
They recorded the statements of those who were affected following the caste violence and also assessed the damages caused to the properties.

They also met the people of Sellankottai village.
The team quizzed police officials who were on duty when the violence took place.
The colonies bore the brunt of caste fury on November 7 when a caste Hindu mob indulged in widespread arson and looting in three Dalit colonies after a Dalit boy from Natham Colony eloped with a caste Hindu girl from Sellankottai village.
