Ratnagiri police on Thursday recovered 18 red sander logs from a car near Arapakkam panchayat. However, the persons travelling in the car fled abandoning the vehicle. Residents of Arapakkam informed the Ratnagiri police that a car was found on the roadside of Chennai — Bangalore NH at about 6.30 a.m.
“The car had slipped into a pit on the roadside. The driver had tried to get it back on the road but failed,” a police officer said. They found 18 red sander logs in the vehicle.
Police said the car should have been travelling towards Chennai. Ratnagiri police have filed a case.
