Mobile clinic given to the District Differently Abled Rehabilitation Department by Tamil Nadu Government promises to provide a wide spectrum of therapies and treatments to the differently abled children.
Children of age group 0-6 with different kinds of disabilities are being taken to the District Level Early Intervention Centres designated for each disability for treatment. However the difficulties in transporting such children to these centres discourage care takers and they often skip visits. This factor remains an impediment for differently abled children to make use of the opportunity for the early intervention. This prompted the State government to give a mobile clinic for those children.
The mobile clinic is provided with good interior design and therapeutic equipments. Orthotic Technicians and Multi Purpose Rehabilitation Aides would provide physiotherapy, speech therapy and other therapies and skill training with the help of the equipment provided in the mobile clinic, at the place of the patients.

The clinic is also equipped with a video projector that will screen awareness visuals that seeks to create awareness on the necessity to examine just born babies for possible disabilities and importance of early detection and intervention, play way treatments given to the children with disabilities and utilisation of aides.
District Collector A. Gnanasekaran visited the mobile clinic recently.

Chezhian, director of Terre Des Home Core Trust that runs the early intervention centre for Mentally Retarded children, Leve, Head Master, Amalarakkini School for Blind that runs the early intervention centre for visually impaired children, Sylvia Right, Director, Rangammal Memorial School for hearing-impaired students that runs the early intervention centre for hearing-impaired children and R. Balaji, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer accompanied him.
