The State government on Friday announced the price list for books to be distributed under Uniform System of Education (Samacheer Kalvi) for Matriculation and Anglo-Indian schools for the year 2011-12.
An official release stated that a set of four books, comprising Tamil, English, Maths and Environmental Studies, will be sold for Rs.200 for first and second standard. From third standard onwards, the books will be sold in a set of five that includes English, Tamil, Maths, Science and Social Science.
The price list from standard third to sixth is Rs.250, seventh and eight standards Rs.300 and ninth and tenth standards Rs.350.

Matriculation and Anglo-Indian schools can avail five per cent discount while procuring books in bulk from regional offices. The public can buy individual copies too.
The price list for individual copies from standard first to fifth is Rs.60, from sixth to eighth (Rs.65) and for ninth and tenth standards (Rs.75 each), the release said.
