Assistant Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Section), Tirunelveli City, N.K. Stanley Jones has been selected for President’s Medal for his meritorious service.
A 1987-batch Sub-Inspector of Police, Mr Jones from Kannanallur near Valliyoor in Tirunelveli district, started his service at Perunthurai police station in Erode district and served in The Nilgiris, Virudhunagar, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts.
When the Idinthakarai-based anti-Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project agitation was at its peak, Mr Jones was posted as Deputy Superintendent of Police, Valliyoor, as he personally knew some of the influential persons from this region.

His role in dissuading some influential local people from joining the anti-nuclear protestors was appreciated by officials.
Mr Jones has already received the Anna Medal for his service.
