A day after TNCC president E.V.K.S. Elangovan virtually asked former Union Minister P. Chidambaram and his son to quit the party, posters have sprung up here, condemning the TNCC president as a “political buffoon”.
The posters appeared at a few places such as Periyar Statue, bus stand and VOC Street areas, and they were put up by former State executive committee member K.V. Nelliyan and his supporters, all loyalist of Mr. Karti Chidambaram.
The posters described Mr. Elangovan as a political buffoon, who was trying to break the Congress in the State. They said Mr. Elangovan had no moral right to criticise Mr. Chidambaram and Mr. Karti Chidambaram. “Are you EVKS Elango or psycho?” the posters asked, punning on the last syllable.

Welcoming former Union Minister Jayanthi Natarajan’s resignation, Mr. Elangovan had said whether the Ganga became clean or not, Ms. Natarajan’s exit would cleanse the Congress. “If another person leaves the party with his heir, the Congress will certainly get deliverance,” Mr. Elangovan said in an apparent reference to Mr. Chidambaram and Mr. Karti Chidambaram.
