Polling for Presidential polls underway in TN

Polling for the Presidential polls began on a brisk note at the Committee Room, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in Chennai on Thursday. Till noon, 169 MLAs and 15 MPs cast their votes. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was the first to vote - around 10 a.m.. DMK president M. Karunanidhi arrived at Fort St George, where the polling station is located, close to noon after Ms. Jayalalithaa left the Fort.

However, press reporters, despite being issued authority letters to enter the polling booth, were not allowed.
