A policeman attached to the Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalion IV at Kovaipudur allegedly committed suicide inside the campus. He was found hanging from a tree on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as R. Amarnath, 25, of Nilakottai in Dindigul district.
The police said that Amarnath had left for his quarters around 10 p.m. on Sunday after duty. But he was found hanging on the campus premises in the morning. After inquest, the body was shifted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
