January 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - KRISHNAGIRI:

The PMK’s State conference in Salem scheduled for February 15, will chalk out the strategy for 2016 Assembly elections, said the party president, G.K. Mani, here on Thursday.

Mr. Mani said that the party was planning to bring on board more youth, and women. He said that the next Assembly elections will prove to be a turning point for the State. The PMK-led alliance would emerge victorious. The people of the State wanted a change, and this would be discussed at the Salem conference, Mr. Mani said.

The Election Commission of India should ensure that elections were conducted in a fair and transparent manner so that the practice of purchasing voters like livestock did not materialise.
